90’s Con Daytona

Last weekend the podcast headed off to 90’s con for the very first time and we had a ton of fun. 90s con is all about the nostalgia, your one spot to relive all your favorite 90s shows. Daytona brought together casts from 7th Heaven, 90210, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and more. One of the moderators of the weekend was Kimberly J Brown from DCOM Halloweentown fame, and we hope to see her at more conventions soon.

90’s con is put on by Thats4Entertainment and has been in Hartford, CT for the last 3 years and will return again March 2025, this was the second year in Florida but the first in Daytona, 2023 was in Tampa.

From what we heard Daytona was a lot smaller than previous conventions and we hope that doesn’t mean the end for 90s con in Florida, as a regular attendee to conventions I believe there is a lot of room for growth for this convention. For a Florida convention the marketplace was rather small, the celebrity guest list was amazing but possibly to the detriment of having enough to do for a 3 day con. There was only one panel room that was all celebrity panels, the cosplay contest was at the after hours event so if you did not attend you could not see it, this led to very minimal cosplay during the day.

Due to the nature of this type of convention I think this is the perfect setting for fan led panels and meetups to provide other options for attendees throughout the day.

The panels were my favorite of the weekend, I attended 90210, Sabrina, 7th Heaven, Charmed, Jaleel White and Full House but I am also someone that loves a good panel. If 90s con returns to Florida I will definitely check it out again and would be interested to see how it grows. I would also really like to see more cosplay throughout the weekend.
